The lagoon is fed by freshwater from several Cenotes. The first thing guests say when they arrive is 'I want to jump in the Lagoon'.

Located on the shore of the Lagoon, and only two blocks from the town square. Casita Carolina's is walking distance from everything you need, including restaurants, shops, ATM’s, and more.
All rooms share a yard right on the lagoon where you can relax, enjoy the sun and the view. Two large and shaded palapa patios with tables and seating, hammocks, and chaise lounges provide ample seating space. The swimming dock also has a shade palapa. Bathrooms, changing rooms and a shower are right by the water for your convenience.
Kayaks and life vests are available for rent at a small charge.

Bacalar is where many stay while visiting the Maya ruins in the area. Laguna Bacalar is one of the most unique lagoons in the world, with clean and sparkling blue water that looks like the ocean. The Maya called Laguna Bacalar the Lake of Seven Colors for its many shades of blue.
The freshwater lagoon is fed by underground cenotes, where crystal clear water emerges. When visiting Bacalar you can enjoy swimming in the lagoon, kayaking, windsurfing, catamaran rides, boat trips, tour the Fort and Pirate Museum, or simply sit and relax while enjoying the view.
Laguna Bacalar is Mexico's 2nd largest natural freshwater lake.
If you enjoy sightseeing there are plenty of ruins nearby, and no large crowds. Letting you enjoy and explore the ruins of Kohunlich, Chacchoben, Dzibanche, Becan and Chicanna.

The Blue Room has one king sized bed, and one double bed.

The Green Room has a private bathroom and ceiling fans to keep you cool while you sleep. This room shares a full kitchen with the Blue Room, with stove and refrigerator, and a spacious living room. The patio features a shaded palapa with a view of the lagoon.
The Green Room has one queen size bed.

The Yellow Room has a private entrance, a shaded patio on the street side, and one double bed with in suite private shower and toilet. This room has easy access with no stairs.

A cool palapa roof with ample windows, the palapa is a private and comfortable room that is more like a suite. This room features one double bed, and one daybed that converts to two twin beds, a table and chairs, hammock, and a private bathroom. The large windows let you view the lagoon, and let in the cool breezes.

The little house is a private building apart from the other rooms. This room has one double bed, in suite bathroom, a small desk area, and many windows.

These trailers are a fun way to camp right on the shore. Choose from the Blue Boler or the White Scamp. Each has one 3/4 size bed, and both share a large palapa patio with hammocks and seating area. Shared Bath House, with separate men's and women's bathrooms.
Boler is $350 pesos per night, bath house, maid service, street parking.
Scamp is $350 pesos per night, bath house, maid service, street parking.

All rentals include daily maid service, access to the garden and grounds, a large conversation patio, swimming dock, and two shade palapa's with hammocks. Free Wi-Fi is at the front patio seating area.
Individual Kayaks are available for a small charge, and includes life vest.
We accept reservations. We are a casual place and simply ask you to pay when you arrive. If you cannot keep your reservation please notify us by email or phone.

There are many inexpensive family restaurants close by within easy walking distance. You can also have food delivered, or shop at the town Mercado.
Enjoy a wonderful day of boating around the lagoon, exploring nature, and sunbathing. Ask for more information about boat tours.
As little as a 45 minute drive from Bacalar, and without the crowds. Enjoy and explore the ruins of Kohunlich, Chacchoben, Dzibanche, Becan and Chicanna.
Kayaking around the lagoon is an enjoyable way to see Bacalar from the water. Kayaks are available to rent for a small charge at Casita Carolina.
Annual Bacalar Boat Races held in August is an exciting time of fast boats. The weekend of races always includes fun parties.
